A Perp or Perpetual is a type of derivative contract in the world of cryptocurrency trading that allows traders to speculate on the future price of an underlying asset, such as Bitcoin or Ethereum, without actually owning the asset itself.

Unlike traditional futures contracts, perpetuals do not have an expiry date and instead maintain a perpetual lifespan.
